Dalek Voice Changer
The Exterminator preset runs your voice through a 30 Hz ring modulator with a little drive and a mid boost: the harsh, pulsing robot shout fans know from classic British sci-fi.

How the Exterminator effect works
A ring modulator multiplies your voice by a steady sine wave. At 30 Hz the result is a fast throb and a rough, buzzing timbre, which is the method the BBC Radiophonic Workshop is credited with for the original Dalek voices. The preset adds light drive, a 5 dB mid boost and a 200 Hz low cut so the shout cuts through.
Tips for a better dalek voice
- Speak in short, staccato bursts and stress every syllable.
- Shout a little: the effect sounds thin when you speak softly.
- Open the Ring pedal and try 25–40 Hz to fine-tune the throb.

Questions
How was the Dalek voice made?
With a ring modulator applied to an actor's voice, plus a distinctive staccato delivery. This preset recreates the ring-mod part live.
Is this an official Dalek voice?
No. It is a generic ring-modulator effect in the same style. Doctor Who and the Daleks belong to their rights holders.
