How the Demon effect works
Horror sound designers layer: a pitched-down copy for size, distortion for aggression and reverb for a sense of an impossibly large space. This preset stacks the same layers live: -12 semitones, 0.5 drive, 50 Hz ring-mod at 20% and a 3 s reverb at 30% wet.
Tips for a better demon voice
- Use headphones: loud low-end plus reverb feeds back fast through speakers.
- Growl slightly from the throat; distortion exaggerates it.
- Monster and Dragon are variations if you want less reverb or more size.
