Voice Changer for Gaming

Pick a voice below, then send VoiceFX into a free virtual cable (VB-CABLE on Windows, BlackHole on Mac) and choose that cable as the microphone in the game or in Discord. Nothing else to install, and your audio never leaves your PC.

Loading the voice rack…

Set up your game in three steps

  1. Install a free virtual cable: VB-CABLE from vb-audio.com on Windows (restart after setup), or BlackHole 2ch on macOS.
  2. Send VoiceFX into it: press Start above, pick a voice, then in the rack's Devices panel set "Send to" to "CABLE Input" (Chrome or Edge).
  3. Make the cable your mic: In the game's audio or voice-chat settings, set the input device / microphone to "CABLE Output". Games without an input menu use the Windows default recording device: Settings → System → Sound → Input → choose CABLE Output.

Stuck? The Discord guide has an interactive step-through for Windows, macOS and Linux, and an AI helper for routing problems.

Good to know

  • Most squads talk on Discord, so setting the cable once as your Discord input covers every game you play there.
  • Use push-to-talk in the game or Discord; it stops the soundboard and room noise from leaking between call-outs.
  • Strong mid-range voices (Walkie-Talkie, Robot, Deep Voice) survive game voice codecs best; long reverbs get smeared.

Questions

What is the best free voice changer for gaming?

Desktop apps like Voicemod (free tier) and Clownfish install a virtual microphone for you. A browser voice changer like VoiceFX needs no install and keeps audio on your device, but needs a free virtual cable to reach the game. Try the voices here first; if you like them, add the cable.

Which games does it work with?

Any PC game or launcher that lets you pick a microphone, or that uses the Windows default recording device: Valorant, Fortnite, Roblox, CS2, Apex Legends, Minecraft voice mods, plus Discord, Steam voice chat and TeamSpeak.

Is using a voice changer in the game allowed?

A voice changer is just another microphone as far as the game is concerned. What counts is behaviour: harassment, hate speech and impersonating staff or other players break the game's rules whatever tool you use. Keep it to jokes, characters and privacy.

Will teammates hear a delay?

The effect adds tens of milliseconds, less than normal voice-chat network delay. Avoid Bluetooth headsets, which add far more.

Does it work on console or phone versions of the game?

No. Consoles and phones do not let browser audio be routed into a game's microphone. You need a Windows PC or a Mac.
