Install a virtual cable
Download VB-CABLE from vb-audio.com, unzip, run the setup as administrator, then restart your PC.
Streaming checklist
- Start with Streamer Polish or Broadcast: a gate and presence boost make any headset mic cleaner even without a character voice.
- In OBS's mixer, keep your voice peaking around −10 dB; soundboard pads a few dB lower.
- Mute or remove the original Mic/Aux source, or viewers hear the dry voice under the effect.
- If you also talk on Discord, route both to the cable and add the cable in OBS once.
- Record a 30-second test in OBS before going live and listen back.
Want the effect on game capture only? Turn off "Hear myself" in VoiceFX so you are not distracted by your own processed voice.

Soundboard for streams

Questions
How do I add a voice changer to OBS?
Route VoiceFX to a virtual cable, then in OBS add an Audio Input Capture source using the cable's output. Mute your original mic in the OBS mixer so viewers only hear the changed voice.
Can I capture the browser directly instead?
On Windows, OBS 28+ has Application Audio Capture: pick the browser window running VoiceFX. It avoids the cable, but then you cannot also use the voice in Discord.
Does it work with Twitch, YouTube and Kick?
Yes. The platform only sees the audio OBS (or Streamlabs, or Twitch Studio) sends, so any streaming service works.
Will a voice changer add stream delay?
Tens of milliseconds, which is invisible next to the several seconds of normal stream latency. If lips and voice drift on a face cam, add a small Sync Offset to the video or audio in OBS's Advanced Audio Properties.
Can I switch voices with a Stream Deck?
Keep the VoiceFX tab focused and map Stream Deck buttons to the soundboard hotkeys (1–0, Q–P, A–F). Browsers do not accept global hotkeys when unfocused.
